The Utrecht Canal Pride 2020 has been canceled

by | Mar 10, 2020

Sad news: the Utrecht Canal Pride 2020 has been canceled because of the COVID-19 virus outbreak.
Registered pride participants will get a refund. Please contact us!
We hope to organize something later this year, but we keep a close eye on the developments.
Until then: stay safe everyone!

About the theme

In the last years, we have dressed as our favorite game characters, and we’ll keep doing that. However, it’s time to push the boundaries. Participants are invited to experiment with the gender stereotype of their favorite game character. What would a transgender Link, a female Mario, or an androgynous Aloy look like?

Expect a colorfully decorated boat where you will see game characters in a different light. A boat where everyone is welcome to show their own interpretations on those characters. We celebrate games as an expression of diversity in gender, sexuality and love. You’re in charge of the controller, it is really YOUR party.

You’re invited to celebrate with us by joining or cheering us on!

🏳️‍🌈 Support us 🏳️‍🌈

We have sponsor opportunities! Brand visibility both online as well as on the Pride boat, with an audience of 30,000 people. Contact us to discuss the possibilities.

As a non-profit foundation, we need your help to make this happen. To give you an idea, we have the following expenses:
– Canal Pride participation fee
– boat rent
– audio set rent
– boat decoration
– drinks for the game developers on the boat

Please consider making a donation to help us cover these costs. 💖
